From Czechia to the World: 30 Years of Alukov

It all began in autumn 1995 when Jan Zitko opened the gates of a former agricultural cooperative in the Czech village of Orel. Originally trained in agriculture, Zitko had a different vision: one that would eventually span continents.

Starting with aluminium windows and doors, it wasn’t long before he ventured into something entirely new for the Czech market—telescopic pool enclosures. With just a welding machine and a piece of aluminium, the first prototypes were born on a farmyard. Today, that same site is home to a modern engineering centre where robotic arms curve polycarbonate roofs with millimetre precision.

"Today, our enclosures are sold in Sweden, Australia—even Dubai," reflects Zitko. "But I’ll never forget the day we had to re-weld our very first structure because it leaked."

Fast forward three decades, Alukov has evolved into a global leader in bespoke enclosures with:

• Over 100,000 m² of production space across the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary

• More than 500 employees

• Exports to over 80 countries worldwide

Each enclosure is crafted to withstand the frosty Scandinavian winters and the scorching Arizona heat, all while being easy enough to slide open with just a finger.

“We aim to be more than a market leader in the Czech Republic,” says Zitko. “Our goal is to set a European standard in quality, design, and functionality.”
