DURABILITY OF OUR ENCLOSURES – LUCK AND HONEST WORK. “THE BEST PURCHASE I EVER MADE”
Our enclosure withstood the impact of debris hurled at it by the hurricane. We can talk about great luck, although the high quality and honest craftsmanship of the product, along with a thorough installation to ensure stability under extreme conditions, definitely played a role.
In October 2024, a hurricane swept through South Carolina, USA, destroying everything in its path. Entire buildings, parked cars, garbage bins, as well as homes, gardens, and their equipment. People were left without power at best, but many lost their homes entirely. Those who escaped with minor damage were considered lucky.

A strong hurricane recently swept through our area. My neighborhood is currently one of the hardest-hit by catastrophic damage. The morning after the storm, we discovered that trees had been uprooted and scattered across the entire property, hitting almost everything. Of course, without power or lights, it was hard to tell what was hit and what was spared. I can tell you, we spent nearly 9 hours digging through the debris to find all our neighbors to make sure they were at least still alive.
“Before the sun set that Friday, I took a walk to assess the damage to the back half of the property. The first thing I noticed was, of course, the huge gaping hole in the tree line where we were surrounded by trees just the day before. That is no longer the case, and I expected the worst since those were all large trees over 75 feet tall.
I was pleasantly surprised to see that our entire pool enclosure appeared to be standing still, even though it was covered in branches and debris. It seemed that none of the fallen trunks had hit the enclosure. Upon closer inspection, I found that two large trees (with roots) had been torn from the ground and thrown onto the pool enclosure and a nearby part of the diving shop located just three feet from the end of the pool and enclosure.”

Honestly, I can’t believe how well the enclosure held up during this storm. When the tornado swept through my backyard, in the middle of a Category 3 hurricane, the pool enclosure stood firm as if nothing had happened. I’ve never seen anything like it. The entire roof of my neighbor’s house was torn off, and most of my shingles were blown off the roof and onto the enclosure. But it showed no visible damage.
I wasn’t immediately able to open the enclosure completely to make sure the whole structure was still solid, but I saw no visible signs suggesting that anything was damaged or bent.
A small amount of debris and leaves got under the cover, I assume it blew through the rubber seal between the segments or the front. But when I say a small amount, I mean just enough to fill a single pool skimmer net – certainly not full.
The water remained clean and the temperature stayed steady throughout our ordeal. I will need to do some cleaning of the segments, but otherwise, it seems fine.
I’m a business owner and do my own pool maintenance. I also perform these services for several other pools in the area. „Než slunce v ten pátek zapadlo, udělal jsem procházku, abych zhodnotil škody na zadní polovině pozemku. První, čeho jsem si všiml, byla samozřejmě velká zející díra ve stromořadí, kde jsme byli den předtím obklopeni stromy. Opravdu, nemůžu uvěřit, jak dobře zastřešení obstálo v této bouři. Když se tornádo prohnalo mým dvorkem, uprostřed hurikánu kategorie 3, zastřešení bazénu stílo na svém místě jakoby nic. To jsem ještě neviděl. Celá střecha domu mého souseda byla vymrštěna pryč a většina mých šindelů byla ze střechy shozena na zastřešení. Ale na něm nebylo žádné viditelné poškození.
Nepodařilo se mi hned úplně otevřít zastřešení, abych se ujistil, že celá jeho konstrukce je stále pevná, ale nevidím žádné viditelné známky, které by mě vedly k domněnce, že se něco poškodilo nebo ohnulo.
Pod kryt se dostalo malé množství úlomků a listí, předpokládám, že profouklo gumové těsnění mezi segmenty nebo čelo. Ale když říkám malé množství, myslím jen takové množství, aby naplnilo jedinou síťku na čištění bazénu, rozhodně ne úplně.
Voda zůstala čistá a teplota se držela po celou dobu našeho utrpení na své hodnotě. Budu muset provést nějaké čištění segmentů, jinak zdá se nic.
Jsem majitel společnosti a provádím vlastní si údržbu bazénu. Stejně tak provádím tyto práce pro několik dalších bazénů v této oblasti. Byl jsem velkým zastáncem systému zastřešení ALUKOV a poskytl jsem několik recenzí a ukázek systému svým dalším klientům. Využívám každé příležitosti, abych jim ukázal, co používám pro svůj bazén a chlubím se úsporami nákladů na chemikálie od chvíle, kdy jsem měl zastřešení namontované.
