Frequently asked questions in the category patio enclosures
Learn how a terrace enclosure provides protection from rain, wind, and sun, extending the usability of your outdoor space. Discover modern and aesthetic custom-made solutions that enhance comfort while protecting furniture and flooring from adverse weather conditions.
What is polycarbonate and what are its types?
Polycarbonate is a thermoplastic polymer that is highly durable. It protects you by blocking harmful UV radiation and also has excellent optical properties. We use either compact or multiwall polycarbonate sheets. Compact sheets are transparent and allow clear views in and out. Multiwall sheets offer excellent insulation. We fully trust our polycarbonate sheets and offer a warranty of up to an incredible 10 years.
Do I need a building permit for a terrace enclosure?
It always depends on the size and layout of your patio in relation to neighboring properties. The safest way is to direct the inquiry to your local building authority. For this purpose, we will provide you with sufficient information. If a building process is initiated, we will supply the necessary documentation. Generally, however, a building permit is not required for our enclosures.
Is there an enclosure with electric drive?
If you want to ensure the highest level of comfort, you’ll definitely appreciate models with motorized opening and closing. We most commonly install motorized systems for low pool enclosures. They are essential for our bioclimatic pergolas, which have motorized roof segments and shading. However, we can add motors to almost any enclosure from our range.
How long does it take to manufacture a custom enclosure?
The production time of custom enclosures depends on the complexity of the structure and selected materials. The process includes precise measurement, tailored design, and subsequent manufacturing. For smaller or standard models, production usually takes about 4–6 weeks. For highly customized orders, the timeline may be longer depending on current production capacity.
What is the energy consumption for enclosures with automatic opening?
Automated enclosure opening systems have very low energy consumption due to the use of modern efficient motors. Each enclosure also includes an integrated battery with a photovoltaic panel that provides continuous charging. Before winter, we recommend removing and recharging the battery before reinstalling it in spring. Typical consumption is only a few watts during cover movement. Operating costs are minimal, and the system is designed to be environmentally friendly and economical.
Can the enclosure be equipped with solar panels?
Yes, for example, our Pergola Solar includes integrated solar panels as a standard. Solar panels in the roof allow the use of renewable energy for heating water or powering devices such as lighting or pumps. This increases energy efficiency while reducing pool operating costs, making it both ecological and economical.
What are the financing options for the enclosure?
We offer various financing options, including installment plans and partnerships with financial institutions. This allows you to purchase an enclosure without needing a large upfront investment. Financing is flexible and tailored to your needs, with low interest and transparent terms.
How do the enclosure’s safety features work?
Safety features include locks, catches, and stabilizing mechanisms that ensure the enclosure stays securely closed even in bad weather. Modern systems also feature automatic motion stop when an obstacle is detected, preventing accidents during use.
Does the enclosure reduce heat loss? Will I save on heating?
Enclosures use the so-called greenhouse effect, which raises temperatures under the enclosure even with low sunlight. This helps reduce heat loss. The enclosure creates an insulating layer that retains water temperature, even during cooler days. This leads to energy savings when using a heating system.
How is the CORSO patio enclosure installed?
The enclosure is installed by a professional team of technicians who ensure on-site professional assembly. The entire process typically takes one to two days, depending on the structure's complexity and site conditions. A flat and solid base is recommended before installation to ensure structural stability. After installation, technicians check the sliding mechanism's functionality and provide the customer with instructions for proper use and maintenance.
